1. Publication Ethics
The International Journal of English for Academic Excellence (IJEAE) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and scholarly integrity. We expect authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members to adhere to ethical publishing practices throughout the submission, peer-review, and publication process.
The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, or unethical authorship practices. Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, methodological quality, and relevance to the journal's scope.
Any suspected misconduct will be investigated following internationally accepted ethical publishing practices.
2. COPE-Aligned Ethics Statement
IJEAE follows internationally recognized principles of publication ethics that are aligned with the best practices promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Editors evaluate manuscripts fairly and independently. Authors are expected to submit original work, disclose conflicts of interest, and acknowledge all sources appropriately. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and provide objective, constructive feedback.
The journal reserves the right to investigate ethical concerns and take appropriate editorial action whenever necessary.
3. Retraction Policy
An article may be retracted if there is clear evidence of:
- Plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Duplicate publication
- Unethical research practices
- Serious methodological or factual errors
- Copyright infringement
- Manipulation of the peer-review process
Retraction notices will remain permanently available alongside the original article to maintain transparency and preserve the scholarly record.
4. Correction Policy
The journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy of the published record. Where errors are identified after publication, appropriate editorial actions may include:
- Publisher Correction
- Author Correction
- Metadata Updates
- Figure or Table Replacement
- Minor Typographical Corrections
Corrections will be linked to the original article and clearly indicate the nature of the amendment.
5. Article Withdrawal Policy
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before editorial acceptance by providing a written explanation to the editorial office.
Once a manuscript has entered peer review, withdrawal requests will be considered only under exceptional circumstances.
Accepted or published articles cannot normally be withdrawn unless serious ethical or legal concerns are identified.
The Editorial Office reserves the right to reject withdrawal requests intended to avoid peer-review outcomes.
6. Complaints & Appeals Procedure
The journal welcomes constructive feedback regarding editorial decisions, publication ethics, or journal operations.
Complaints may relate to:
- Editorial decisions
- Peer-review process
- Publication ethics
- Author conduct
- Reviewer conduct
- Copyright issues
Complaints should be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office with supporting documentation.
Each complaint will be reviewed fairly, confidentially, and independently. Authors may appeal editorial decisions once by providing a detailed academic justification.
The Editor-in-Chief's final decision shall be considered conclusive.
7. AI Usage Policy
The journal recognizes that artificial intelligence tools may assist authors during manuscript preparation.
AI tools may be used for:
- Language improvement
- Grammar correction
- Formatting assistance
- Literature organization
- Coding assistance
However:
- AI systems cannot be listed as authors.
- Authors remain fully responsible for all content.
- Any substantial AI-assisted writing or analysis should be disclosed within the manuscript.
AI content threshold: AI-generated or AI-assisted content must not exceed 10% of the manuscript. Submissions with more than 10% AI-generated content (as detected by screening tools) may be rejected.
Editors may request clarification regarding AI-assisted content whenever necessary.
8. Data Availability Policy
Authors are encouraged to make research data, supplementary materials, and supporting information available whenever possible.
Where applicable, manuscripts should include a Data Availability Statement indicating:
- where supporting data can be accessed,
- any repository used,
- or the reason data cannot be shared.
Authors remain responsible for ensuring compliance with institutional, ethical, and legal requirements relating to research data.
9. DOI Statement
The journal is committed to enhancing the discoverability and long-term accessibility of published research.
Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) will be assigned to published articles once the journal completes its registration with an official DOI registration agency.
Until then, articles will remain permanently accessible through the journal website and associated indexing services.
10. Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts undergo similarity screening before peer review.
Manuscripts showing significant overlap with previously published work may be rejected without review.
Authors are expected to ensure originality and provide proper citation for all referenced material.
Similarity threshold: Up to 10% similarity is generally acceptable, provided all sources are properly cited. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 10% (excluding references) may be rejected without review.
Any confirmed plagiarism identified after publication may result in correction, retraction, or other appropriate editorial action.
11. Conflict of Interest Policy
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the publication process.
Editors with a conflict of interest will recuse themselves from handling the manuscript.
12. Copyright & Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their published work.
Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) License unless otherwise specified.
This license permits unrestricted sharing, adaptation, and reuse of the work provided appropriate attribution is given.
13. Privacy Statement
Personal information submitted to the journal, including names, email addresses, affiliations, and contact details, will be used solely for editorial and publication purposes.
The journal does not sell, distribute, or disclose personal information to third parties except where required by law.
14. Archiving Policy
The journal is committed to preserving published scholarly content for long-term accessibility.
Published articles remain permanently available through the journal website. The journal will continue to develop additional preservation and archiving mechanisms as the publication expands.
15. Peer Review Policy
All research articles undergo a double-blind peer-review process.
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the submitted work.
Editorial decisions are based on originality, methodological rigor, scholarly contribution, ethical compliance, and reviewer recommendations.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the quality and credibility of the journal.
Reviewers are expected to:
- Conduct objective, constructive, and unbiased evaluations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts.
- Declare any conflicts of interest before accepting a review.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Identify relevant published work that has not been cited.
- Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical concerns.
- Complete reviews within the requested review period.
Reviewers must not use unpublished material for personal research or benefit.
Editor Responsibilities
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent, and timely editorial process.
Editors shall:
- Evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit.
- Protect the confidentiality of authors and reviewers.
- Select qualified reviewers without bias.
- Make editorial decisions independently.
- Manage conflicts of interest appropriately.
- Investigate allegations of research misconduct.
- Issue corrections or retractions when necessary.
Editorial decisions are not influenced by commercial, institutional, or personal interests.
Citation Policy
Authors are expected to cite sources accurately, fairly, and responsibly. The journal discourages:
- Excessive self-citation
- Citation manipulation
- Citation cartels
- Irrelevant references intended to inflate citation counts
References should directly support the content presented in the manuscript and follow the journal's required citation style.
Open Access Policy
IJEAE is an open-access journal committed to the unrestricted dissemination of scholarly knowledge. All published articles are freely accessible immediately upon publication without subscription or paywall restrictions. Readers may read, download, distribute, and reuse published content in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license. Authors retain copyright of their work.
Self-Archiving Policy
Authors may archive the submitted manuscript (preprint), the accepted manuscript (postprint), and the published version, on personal websites, institutional repositories, or non-commercial scholarly platforms, provided that proper citation and a link to the journal's official publication are included. Archived versions should clearly indicate the publication status.
Preprint Policy
The journal accepts submissions that have previously been shared on recognized non-commercial preprint servers. Authors must disclose any preprint version during submission and provide the corresponding repository link. Following publication, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record with a citation and link to the final published article.
Research Misconduct Policy
Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to: plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, authorship misconduct, peer-review manipulation. Allegations of misconduct will be investigated by the Editorial Office. Where misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions may include manuscript rejection, publication correction, article retraction, notification of affiliated institutions, or restrictions on future submissions.
Human and Animal Research Ethics
For research involving human participants or animals, authors must confirm that the study complied with relevant institutional, national, and international ethical standards. Manuscripts should include ethics committee approval (where applicable), informed consent statements, participant confidentiality measures, and compliance with applicable ethical guidelines. For literature, linguistics, and humanities manuscripts that do not involve human or animal subjects, this policy is generally not applicable.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
The journal is committed to fostering an inclusive scholarly environment that values diversity of perspectives, cultures, disciplines, institutions, and geographical regions. Editorial decisions are made without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, institutional affiliation, or personal background. The journal encourages submissions from researchers worldwide and promotes equitable participation throughout the publication process.
Advertising Policy
The journal maintains complete editorial independence from advertising or sponsorship. Any advertisements displayed on the journal website shall be clearly distinguishable from editorial content, not influence editorial decisions, comply with applicable legal and ethical standards, and not promote misleading or deceptive information. The Editor-in-Chief retains full authority over editorial content regardless of advertising arrangements.
Funding Disclosure
Authors must disclose all sources of financial support related to the submitted research. If the research received no external funding, authors should include the statement: "This research received no external funding."
Acknowledgements
Authors may acknowledge individuals or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship. Examples include language editing, technical assistance, administrative support, funding agencies, institutional support. Acknowledgements should not imply endorsement by the journal.
Conflicts of Interest
All authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the publication process. If no conflicts exist, authors should state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
